Abstracts

Abstracts are accepted exclusively through your personal mySHVM2026 area, which you can access after you have set up an account. Please note that payment of your registration fee is required before you can submit an abstract.

The abstract submission deadline is 3 July 2026. The Scientific Committee will then review the received abstracts for inclusion in the scientific programme in one of the following formats:

  • Short oral communications
Selected abstracts will be presented during specific symposia as deemed appropriate by the organising committee.
  • Poster presentations
Posters will be displayed throughout the meeting, with ample opportunity for presentation and discussion.

This Title is Not Properly Written

"William C. Stanley" Early Investigator Award

The "William C. Stanley" Early Investigator Award (EIA) highlights the scientific accomplishments of promising young researchers and is a major focus of the Annual Meeting of the Society for Heart and Vascular Metabolism.

As in previous years, entrants for the EIA competition should be either students or postdoctoral fellows (with less than 6 years post qualification experience). Previous winners of the "William C. Stanley" Early Investigator Award (or its precursor, termed "Early Investigator Commendation") are also not eligible for this competition.

Eligible candidates for the EIA competition must submit a 1-min video supporting their abstract, which can be uploaded via your mySHVM2026 area. The organisers will automatically select videos/abstracts submitted by eligible junior participants and enter them into this year's EIA competition.

The organisers will select four winners for the EIA, based on the abstract and the 1-minute video submitted by eligible candidates. For each winner, the registration fee will be waived/reimbursed and a personal check of 250 USD will be issued. The winners will present their work in a dedicated session (see the Programme, Tuesday 27 October).

Poster prizes

The organisers will select three winners (students/trainees) from the two poster sessions. This award, in honour of Gary D. Lopaschuk, is aimed at promoting early career scientists.

There will also be awards from the following journals: Springer, American Journal of Physiology: Heart and Circulatory Physiology, Nature Review Cardiology, JMCC.

Language

English is the official language for the meeting.
